John Michael Kohler Arts Center
A nationally acclaimed visual and performing arts complex in downtown Sheboygan, the Arts Center is devoted to innovative explorations in contemporary art. Its nine galleries feature original exhibitions that change throughout the year. A free art-making studio invites having fun with hands-on activities inspired by works in the galleries. JMKAC’s performance schedule includes dance, theater, and music. It also offers workshops and classes in dance, visual arts, and other disciplines, and is home to an accredited arts-based preschool. JMKAC SHOP presents a fine selection of unusual and hand-made items. Visitors can enjoy delicious house-made salads, sandwiches, desserts, and soups at CAFE. The Arts Center holds a world-renowned collection of the multifaceted works of art called artist-built environments. In August of 2020, JMKAC opens Art Preserve, the world’s only museum dedicated to artist-built environments, at 3636 Lower Falls Road in Sheboygan. The Arts Center also has an adjunct site: ARTspace, an exhibition space and shop in The Shops at Woodlake in Kohler Village.
