Visitor center open year-round. Hours are 9am-4pm weekdays and 10am-4pm weekends. Closed on major holidays.
The state-owned, southern third of the marsh (totaling 11,000 acres) is open to the public. Five miles of hiking trails lead from the Education Center into the marsh. The trails afford excellent opportunities for bird and wildlife viewing. The Education Center provides visitor information, a state-of-the-art Explorium with interactive displays and interactive educational opportunities, a feature film about Horicon Marsh and a wide range of education programs, movie nights and events. Most programs are free. See calendar of events at www.horiconmarsh.org.
