About Saxon Falls
Located on the Wisconsin/Michigan border, Saxon Falls total cascade is 90 feet on the Montreal River. Only in the spring as the snow melts or after a particularly heavy summer rainfall will all three of the lower falls be running fully. The gorge below the falls is one of the deepest in the midwest.
Directions from Hurley : Travel 12.5 miles west on U.S. 2. Turn right on Hwy 122 north, traveling for approx. 2.1 miles. At County B turn right and follow 1.5 miles, then take a left at Saxon Falls Road (unpaved). Go 0.5 miles to the unpaved parking area. On foot, follow the short, wooded hiking trail to the east of the parking area, which leads to the overlook location.
