About Ephraim Preserve at Anderson Pond
Enjoy discovering the wonders of nature found here! This is one of 14 featured Door County Land Trust nature preserves that showcase the scenic beauty and natural diversity that make Door County so special. Nature preserves are open to the public at no charge for hiking, skiing, photography, nature study and other low-impact, non-motorized activities.
Trail begins on top of an ancient cobblestone beach ridge on Moravia Street and descends into juniper fields and forest that surround the centerpiece of this preserve, Anderson Pond. The trail passes by remnants of the historic Anderson farmstead and also traverses the base of the Niagara Escarpment. The preserve is home to an impressive diversity of waterfowl and other bird species, particularly in springtime.
