About Blackhawk Park - USACE
Blackhawk Park is situated in Pool 9 on the main channel of the mighty Mississippi River. The park has a variety of trees that offer a shady spot in the summer and provide beautiful colors in the fall. The rangers provide a variety of programs and activities throughout the summer for all to enjoy. Blackhawk is also home to a historic site. The park is located on the same site as the final battle of the Blackhawk War, known as the Battle of Bad Axe, which occurred on Aug. 1-2, 1832.
Blackhawk Park offers two boat launches within the park. One boat launch is located on the main channel of the Mississippi River and the other is on Green Lake, which gives access to the backwaters of the Mississippi River. Both sites are available to campers and noncampers for a nominal fee. Blackhawk Park also offers a swimming beach, a fishing pier and two shelters available for reservation.
