About Fox River Navigational System Authority
We have preserved the heritage of one of the nation’s most unique transportation systems—the Fox River lock system. Of the 17 locks, 16 have been restored to full working order and are a recreational, historic, and economic asset to northeast Wisconsin. More than 30 miles of the Fox River are open: 12 navigable miles from Menasha to Little Chute— then 19 navigable miles from Wrightstown to the bay of Green Bay. Enjoy the living history of one of the only hand-operated locks systems in the nation, making the Fox River accessible to motorized and non-motorized boaters. Full schedule of operation available on our website.
