Flambeau River State Forest

Flambeau River State Forest spans more than 92,000 acres of forestland along two branches of the Flambeau River, offering a wide range of year-round outdoor recreation in northern Wisconsin. The forest is especially known for its 75 miles of whitewater canoeing, with rustic camping at 35 sites along the river and at 60 sites in two improved campgrounds.

Visitors can also enjoy fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and birding, as well as 38 miles of signed ATV trails and 22 miles of cross-country ski trails, including groomed and ungroomed routes. Multiple campgrounds and river access landings make it easy to explore both the waterways and the surrounding forest landscape. Pets are welcome in designated areas when kept on a leash and under control.
