About Harrington Beach State Park
Harrington Beach State Park, located along a mile of Lake Michigan shoreline, offers 715 acres of diverse landscapes, including white cedar swamps, restored wetland ponds, and a scenic limestone quarry lake. Visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, hiking, picnicking, and birdwatching, with accessible options such as a cabin, campsites, picnic shelters, and a universal playground. The park also features a family campground, a group campsite, and a kayak site. Hikers can explore seven miles of trails, including the historic beach with remnants of a 700-foot pier that used in the early 1900s for shipping limestone quarried and processed at the park. The park also offers opportunities for astronomy at the observatory, horseback riding and cross-country skiing in winter.
