About Northern Highland/American Legion State Forest
Covers 223,283 acres in northern Wisconsin including 900 lakes and 18 family campgrounds. A total of 244 bird species frequent the forest - that's 73 percent of all species recorded in Wisconsin. Nesting pairs of bald eagles, osprey and loons are common. It is home to one of the largest Bald Eagle nesting concentrations in the world. Pets are welcome in Wisconsin State Parks but must be on a leash and under control at all times. Certain areas may be off limits to pets. Visit our website for more details.
