About Necedah National Wildlife Refuge
Located in Juneau County, this 44,000-acre refuge is home to the world's largest population of endangered Karner blue butterflies. See whooping cranes, migrating waterfowl in fall, bald eagles, and shorebirds and songbirds in spring. Play in the visitor center exhibit hall or take a walk along the boardwalk trails over the wetlands.
Visit the 2-story observation tower, drive the auto tour, or head to a trail for a wilderness adventure. Hunt, fish, cross-country ski, snowshoe, and enjoy photography and wildlife observation. Stop by the visitor center for recent wildlife sightings a map, or to shop in the bookstore. Located less than an hour from Wisconsin Dells, Tomah, and Wisconsin Rapids.
