About MECCA Trails
The MECCA Trail System features 21 kilometers (13 miles) of regularly groomed cross-country ski trails and 3 miles of snowshoe trails. In spring, summer and fall, the trails are open to hikers, runners and wildlife watchers. The moderately challenging terrain winds through glacial features, including eskers, drumlins and kettles, with forests of hemlock, pine, maple and oak, along with wetlands of black spruce, cedar and tamarack. Visitors can also enjoy scenic views of the Little Turtle Wildlife Area. The MECCA Trail System has multiple trailheads for year-round access. The main trailhead has a chalet that is open daily during the winter season and features a woodstove, changing room and wax bench.
