Bed and Breakfasts

Bed and Breakfast in Wisconsin

The Wisconsin state motto may be “Forward,” but we like taking things slowly sometimes and enjoying every hour of the day for what it’s worth.

If relaxation, quality time and a hearty breakfast are what you seek on your next romantic getaway or family vacation, book a stay at any of our charming bed-and-breakfasts. You’ve earned it. With a wide range of B&Bs to choose from —  historic mansions near major cities to cozy cottages tucked away in the woods —  we’re confident you’ll find the perfect hideaway to meet your needs.

Historic Stays

Enter a bygone era with modern-day amenities at any of Wisconsin’s beautifully restored B&Bs.

For a relaxing stay with tons of history, check-in at the Hotel Ruby Marie, Madison’s oldest operating hotel. The Ruby Marie first opened its doors in 1873 and became popular among railroad passengers due to its prime location near the track. With 15 modern, Victorian-style rooms to choose from today, you’ll be even happier to know both breakfast and happy hour are included with your stay.

If your travels take you to Milwaukee, you’ll find some more historic charm at the Brumder Mansion Bed and Breakfast. It was built originally as a private residence by a local business leader in the early 1900s. All six suites feature 19th century Victorian and Gothic-style decor. You don’t even have to leave the building if you’re looking for live entertainment. You can catch a show at the B&B’s very own theater.

Secluded Escapes

Perfect for romantic getaways or small families, a stay at any of our secluded B&Bs away from major cities is an experience in itself.

For attentive service and an intimate feel, stay at the Inn at Windmill Farm in Baileys Harbor. Situated in the central part of the Door County Peninsula, this 1900s Dutch-style restored farmhouse only has three guest rooms, so book in advance. Just outside your room are a windmill and an orchard on 10 acres of land.

Within minutes from downtown Sturgeon Bay, the rustic-chic Chanticleer Guest House is a nature lover’s paradise and a perfect getaway for honeymooners. Situated on 70 private acres, this romantic country inn has a working sheep farm, hiking trails and a pond. Even better, guests get breakfast delivered to their rooms. Each of the eight guest house and barn suites is unique, featuring wood-burning fireplaces and cozy decor. For even more privacy, book a cottage or cabin — there are two of each on the property.

For something more out of the ordinary, check out the B&B at the Artha Sustainable Living Center in the heart of central Wisconsin. This serene retreat surrounded by rolling hills and open fields operates with solar power and heat and provides guests with organic linens and food. During your stay, book a massage or take a yoga class at the center.

If a B&B sounds like your ideal escape, book a stay for you and your family or significant other and wake up to a delicious breakfast every morning.
