Great River Road Wine Trail

Take in the charming countryside view of nine wineries on the Great River Road Wine Trail along the Mississippi River. On the Wisconsin side of the river, the trail takes you on an adventure through Trempealeau, Fountain City, Alma, Pepin and Stockholm. Wisconsin wineries on the trail include Elmaro Vineyard, Seven Hawks Vineyards, Danzinger Vineyards, and Maiden Rock Winery and Cidery. This is the ultimate getaway to sip and enjoy from vine straight to the wine glass while supporting family-owned businesses.

Delicious Wine and Fantastic Views

Come for the wine but stay for the views on this 235-mile journey along Wisconsin’s Driftless Region with picturesque views of bluffs, hilltops and the Mississippi River. Enjoy sweet and semi-sweet white wines to dryer red wines with premium ingredients from locally grown grapes and other fruits. Not only do these wineries use hand-harvested grapes and translate them into award-winning wines, but they also have river bluffs, quaint lodges and beautiful vineyards with rugged rolling terrain. There are also tours of the stunning vineyards, showcasing wine-making techniques and modern tasting rooms. These wineries have cozy settings with a patio or porch to make you feel as though you’re in the vineyard as you relax and catch a glimpse of beauty.

Every year there is a Holiday Harvest annual winery event. Here there is an assortment of holiday treats to pass and a variety of wines and ciders to taste. You can get together with others as you take in the countryside views and treats for a holiday getaway.

Taste wine with ingredients straight from the vineyard you’re sitting at and enjoy company as you unwind and recharge along the Great River Road Wine Trail.
