Travel Wisconsin’s online video, “Real Fun: Our Wisconsin Cabin Story,” has hit more than four million views across its social media channels, a record for the Department of Tourism. The video, filmed on-location at Black Cliff’s Resort, follows the Thompson family on their annual summer vacation to Hazelhurst, Wisconsin where they have visited every summer for nearly 60 years.
“Video has become an important part of any successful content marketing strategy, and we’re thrilled that one of the Department’s online video has reached this milestone of four million views,” said Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett. “So many people can relate to this story because it captures the true spirit of a Wisconsin Northwoods.”
The online video was filmed on-location at Black Cliff’s Resort and highlights the Thompson family’s annual summer vacation. Members of the Thompson family travel from as far as Colorado to enjoy a two-week family reunion at the resort in Northern Wisconsin. The video, which ties in to the tourism brand of fun, is a part of Travel Wisconsin’s Real Fun video series highlighting authentic Wisconsin travel experiences from real residents and visitors to Wisconsin. Among its Midwest competitors, Wisconsin ranks No. 1 in fun, family atmosphere, uniqueness, affordability and outdoor recreation according to Longwoods International, a leader in travel research. Madison-based Studio 88 produced the video, which can be viewed here.
