Near the south end of the trail, you'll roll through a reconstructed covered bridge; just north of Brodhead pastures dotted with Holsteins line the Trail.   The trail continues to Albany - stop downtown for a scenic view of the dam on the Sugar River.  Next is Monticello - take a detour downtown and to Montesian Gardens and Lake Montesian.  The route also takes you through America's "Little Switzerland." The lovely village of New Glarus, with its unique chalet-style buildings and European charm, anchors the north end of the trail. South of town, New Glarus Woods State Park offers 18 family campsites plus 14 primitive bike camping sites. The park's shady picnic area is a popular start or finish to any ride. Along the Sugar River Trail, you can tour three small town museums: the Swiss Historical Village in New Glarus, the Albany Historical Museum, and the Brodhead Depot Museum.
