The Zillmer Trail in the Kettle Moraine State Forest–Northern Unit is the perfect mix of scenery and adventure.

Wander through oak and aspen groves, pine plantations, marshland, and open fields while tackling rolling terrain, long flats, and a couple of heart-pumping hills. One loop even rewards you with a scenic overlook offering sweeping views of the countryside.

At the trailhead, the Zillmer Shelter is ready for groups of up to 50, complete with heat (April–November), tables, chairs, and electric outlets. Drinking water and vault toilets are nearby, making it a great spot to gather before or after your hike. From peaceful walks to group outings, Zillmer has something for everyone.
