This lovely example of Georgian Colonial Revival architecture was built in 1930 as a wedding gift for Theodore and Rosella Woolsey. The house’s distinctive roughhewn cedar shake roof and cream-colored brick with dramatic "weeping mortar" is a neighborhood standout. Beloit truly is the Gateway to Wisconsin, being located at I-90 and the Wisconsin – Illinois border. Both Milwaukee and Madison airports are only 1 hour away, and only 1 ½ hours from Chicago’s O'Hare Airport. Emerson House is also a short distance to Beloit College, cultural art centers and quaint downtown shops and restaurants.
