About Indian Mounds Campground
Indian Mounds Campground, sites 1-39, is located in the southern portion of the forest on the northeast corner of Lake Tomahawk. Lake Tomahawk is part of the Minocqua Chain of Lakes and offers excellent fishing and boating. The campground has three vault toilet buildings, three hand pumps for drinking water, separate trash and recycling dumpsters and access to the water. There is also an adjacent boat launch with a vault toilet building. Three of the four vault toilet buildings are designated ADA-accessible. Sites 9-10 and 17-18 are double campsites. They accommodate up to 12 people and two-wheeled camping units. Sites 24-27 and 29-31 are walk-to, tent-only sites where campers must walk a short distance from their cars to the campsite.
