About South Wood County Park
South Wood County Park is located on the south side of 148-acre Lake Wazeecha and offers a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities throughout the year. It is popular for water skiing, fishing, paddleboarding, canoeing, tubing, and other water sports. Numerous small sandy beaches offer great spots to pull up a boat and enjoy a picnic, while both shoreline and boat fishing opportunities are plentiful. A four-mile multi-use trail circles the lake, providing scenic views and serving as the setting for annual events. The campground features 73 campsites and shower facilities.
Each July, the park hosts the State Water Ski Show Tournament at Red Sands Beach. Additional amenities include the Willow Run Disc Golf Course, two beaches, six reservable shelters, a boat launch, and numerous picnic areas.
