5 Breweries and Wineries for Fall Color Views

Share

Wisconsin has no shortage of ways to experience fall color, but one of the best ways to take in the magnificent hues is with a fresh, Wisconsin-made beverage in hand. These tap and tasting rooms offer uniquely local pours on top of providing an unmatched atmosphere to enjoy with family and friends. You’ll swear your beverage tastes even better surrounded by gorgeous shades of amber, crimson and every color in between.

Botham Vineyards – Barneveld

Botham Vineyards in Barneveld is an original vine-to-bottle winery that has been using estate-grown grapes to produce its award-winning wines for more than 30 years. Settled in the heart of Iowa County, visit in autumn and you’ll witness some of the best fall color the Driftless Region has to offer.

Guests are encouraged to pack a picnic to enjoy on the expansive terrace overlooking the rolling hills brimming with fall foliage while sipping fruit-forward, earthy flavors distinctive to this region of the state. Bring your whole crew along for a delicious autumn outing ideal for spending quality time with your favorite people.

Munson Bridge Winery – Withee

Centrally located in Wisconsin’s heartland, Munson Bridge Winery is on a breathtaking property where you and your group can enjoy a glass of wine by the pond while taking in the beautiful views of fall color. Munson Bridge specializes in fruit wines and offers some varieties you might not find elsewhere, like elderberry, boysenberry and even crab apple!

Much of the fruit used in these wines is either grown on the property or purchased from local farmers. Free tastings are available for each variety, and appetizers and lunch options make for the perfect pairing.

LedgeStone Vineyards & Gnarly Cedar Brewery - Greenleaf

Just south of Green Bay, LedgeStone Vineyards & Gnarly Cedar Brewery is nestled at the foot of the Niagara Escarpment, surrounded for miles by rolling hills that come alive with color each fall. Sample brews like the Cold Hardy IP-Lager made with grapes from the vineyard and the Ship of Fools, an imperial stout aged in Port wine barrels.

Along with the wines and brews, you can enjoy a full meal here from a thoughtful menu that includes flatbreads, sandwiches and larger entrees. Be sure to book a reservation ahead of time for table service, or play it by ear and spread out on the scenic lawn.

Central Waters Brewing Co – Amherst

With so much pristine natural beauty around the town of Amherst, you might not know that it’s home to one of Wisconsin’s fastest-growing and most beloved craft breweries. As you make your way to Central Waters, you may notice that there are not many nearby businesses or landmarks along the way. But once you come over the ridge, you’ll spot the charming compound surrounded by miles and miles of fall foliage.

Order up a Mudpuppy Porter or Oktoberfest Lager and head out to the picnic tables where you and your group can enjoy the crisp fall air and relaxing atmosphere. While surrounded by stunning nature, you can also enjoy knowing that Central Waters is one of the most environmentally sustainable breweries in the United States.
