Share

River tubing. It’s a favorite summer activity in Wisconsin, and it’s fun for family and friend groups, big and small. Enjoy the scenery, native wildlife and good company as you float down a refreshing river. Add to the experience by staying overnight or the whole week at riverside campgrounds and resorts.

Discover these 8 rivers great for river tubing, plus local outfitters. From rentable tubes and shuttle services to cooler tubes for snacks and more, these outfitters have everything you need to get floating. Many also have canoes and kayaks available for rent for all kinds of adventures!

Namekagon River

Float through the wilderness on this river, part of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway.

Apple River

The popular Apple River, located in Northwest Wisconsin near the Minnesota border, is close to all the action. The wild rapids satisfy the daring, while families and groups find this a fun place to cool off and relax.

Wolf River

You'll float past towering green pines as you stay cool in the clear waters of the Wolf River. In Langlade County, the Upper Wolf River drops 430 feet over 28 miles, making it one of the fastest-flowing rivers in the Midwest. Further downstream, things slow down for a gentle trip out of New London.
