8 Wisconsin Supper Clubs with Gorgeous Lake Views
Supper club tradition runs deep in Wisconsin. Built on family, fish frys and Old Fashioneds, they’re our gathering places, clubs where everyone is welcome, the likes of which you can’t find just anywhere.
If you like your dinner with a view, you’re in luck: each of these supper clubs is right on the water and boasts some truly stunning sights of the state’s natural beauty. Sit down, stay a while and enjoy the view and the company at these eight scenic supper clubs on Wisconsin lakes.
Ishnala Supper Club – Wisconsin Dells
Tucked between pines of Mirror Lake State Park is a unique supper club with elevated lakefront views. A little teepee and walkway torches are reminders of centuries-old history, when the property was a trading stop for Native Americans. Their most popular cocktail, the Chief Ishnala (a tropical mix of vodka, rum, tequila, triple sec, orange juice, sour mix and grenadine), has been a favorite for over 60 years. Ishnala is open May to October and does not take reservations–so arrive early for a window view.
Silvercryst Supper Club & Motel – Wautoma
What began as a log resort in 1894 now has walls of windows that face scenic Silver Lake. In summer, you and your crew can enjoy drinks from an outdoor beach bar or listen to live music in the indoor lounge. Besides views of natural beauty, Silvercryst also features colorful wall murals, warm décor and its iconic greeter – six-foot-tall Boris the Bull, a statue added in the 1960s.
The Copper Dock – Hubertus
The coppery hue of Freiss Lake’s sunset is like a beacon for boaters and others to enjoy the relaxed waterfront dining at the Copper Dock, just five miles from the Holy Hill National Shrine of Mary basilica. Musicians perform on the deck on Wednesdays in the summer, the same night the local-favorite crab legs special is served. Other summer specials have included lobster ravioli, seafood casserole and the classic Friday Fish Fry.
Gib’s on the Lake – Kewaunee
Nestled between rolling farmland and Lake Michigan is Gib’s on the Lake, where nearly all diners get a Great Lake view. This prime piece of rural real estate was merely a bar and grill in the 1920s. When three sisters took over, their initials spelled G-I-B, and the rest is history. Stop in with your crew to try a variety of mouth-watering dishes, including high-quality steaks and ribs, pasta made fresh daily, a Friday Fish Fry and classic German dishes on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Donny's Glidden Lodge – Sturgeon Bay
Tucked back in the woods of Door County, this charming supper club is the perfect place to unwind with a lakeside drink overlooking beautiful Lake Michigan. You and your group can dine outside on the patio or inside the cozy stone cottage and treat yourselves to an extensive menu of traditional supper club fare; steaks, prime rib and fish fry are all regular specials.
Maiden Lake Supper Club – Mountain
Arrive by car, motorcycle boat or seaplane for broiled or coated walleye, prepared by the same family for over three decades at Maiden Lake Supper Club in Northeast Wisconsin. Settle onto the three-level deck for a gander at beautiful Maiden Lake within the impressive Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Reservations are encouraged and other signature dishes include lamb tenderloin, roast duck and frog legs.
Pinewood Supper Club – Mosinee
Picture windows in the high-rafter dining room at Pinewood frame Half Moon Lake, but that's not the most extraordinary feature at this woodsy supper club. Check out the mascots: a herd of fainting goats, whose munching reduces landfill waste. Come for the views and goats and stay for the Fresh Cracker Crusted Walleye, barbecue ribs and craft cocktails.
Norwood Pines Supper Club - Minocqua
For tasty fare and lake views all year round, gather with your crew at Norwood Pines Supper Club. In warmer weather, you can dine in the screened-in porch with views of Patricia Lake, and in winter, a cozy fireplace warms the whole dining room.
With plenty of seafood, steaks, ribs and more on the menu, as well as classic supper club ice cream drinks, this is a must-stop on your Wisconsin supper club tour.
