Insider Guide to Wisconsin Golf Resorts

Share

When you’re looking to extend a day of golfing into a vacation with friends and/or family, look no further than Wisconsin’s many impressive golf resorts. From luxury spas to relax in after nine holes to indoor waterparks for the whole family and delicious restaurants to fuel your game, it’s easy to transform one day of fun into a whole weekend of special memories. Read on to discover just a few of the many spectacular golf resorts in Wisconsin.

The American Club - Kohler

The American Club is home to four championship golf courses designed by legendary Hall of Fame architect Pete Dye, including the nationally-recognized Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run Courses. The resort also features two hotels, the world-class Kohler Waters Spa and lavish cabins in the woods for small group stays. Forbes has repeatedly awarded the American Club its rare 5-Star designation, given to only 36 resorts worldwide. Explore the resort’s curated packages and discover your next dream vacation.

Insider Tip: After a full day of golf, hit The Horse and Plow for some of the best pub-style food on this side of the Atlantic. Ask for a Jigger Ale—a unique beer from Kohler’s Old Course Hotel in St. Andrews, Scotland.

Destination Geneva National & Grand Geneva - Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva is home to not one but two of Wisconsin’s top golf resorts.

At Destination Geneva National, you can pick between three golf courses designed by your favorite golf heroes—Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and or Lee Trevino. All three golf courses will test your mettle, but the Player course offers the most stunning woodland and wetland views.  Bring the whole family and enjoy a night on the “Dance Floor,” an illuminated putt-putt course with surround sound speakers and bonfires–s’mores included!

The Grand Geneva Resort has two top-shelf golf courses of its own—the Highlands and the Brute. Extra amenities here include the WELL Spa & Salon, an outdoor pool bar and five tasty restaurants.

Insider Tip(s): Geneva National has some of the best “stay and play” rates in the state–be sure to browse their packages. Both of these resorts are also dog-friendly!

Coachman’s Golf Resort - Edgerton

Just southeast of Madison, Coachman’s Golf Resort offers 27 holes designed to bring out the best in players, meaning it's not as challenging as some of the bigger-name courses. This makes it a great destination for seniors, beginners and anyone who is looking for a guaranteed good time.

In between rounds, you and your group can refuel at the English Inn-themed dining room, take a dip in the outdoor pool and practice together at the driving range.

Insider Tip: Take part in a tasty Wisconsin tradition by enjoying the Coachman restaurant’s Friday night fish fry.

Chula Vista Resort - Wisconsin Dells

Wisconsin Dells is one of the prime travel destinations in Wisconsin; with so many golf courses in the area, it’s also a golfer’s dream. Stay at Chula Vista Resort to experience Coldwater Canyon Golf Course, originally designed over 100 years ago by JC Wilson. The 18 holes here highlight the dramatic landscape of Wisconsin’s Driftless Region with natural moguls and canyon fairways.

But golf is just the start of the fun at Chula Vista. You can also explore 200,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor waterparks with 27 exhilarating waterslides stretching over 1.5 miles long. Lodging options include over 600 hotel guest rooms, villas and luxurious condominiums for group getaways.

Insider Tip: For even more golfing fun, take on the 18-hole miniature golf course with the whole family.

Sand Valley Golf Resort - Nekoosa

Make your way to Sand Valley Golf Resort in Central Wisconsin to enjoy award-winning courses, luxurious lodgings and the chance to spend extra time exploring the natural surroundings. Beyond the striking courses such as Mammoth Dunes, Sand Valley offers hiking and biking trails, 15 grass tennis courts and water activities for groups staying in the onsite cottages.

And don’t forget the food! You’ll be able to choose from the rustic Mammoth Bar, Aldo’s Farm & Table, the casual Craig’s Porch and The Gallery which serve Italian specialties.

Insider Tip: Resort guests have exclusive access to The Lido, a reconstruction of a legendary Long Island course that Sand Valley has brought back to life.
