Legendary Destinations that Define Wisconsin Sports

Share

Mention the Packers, Bucks and Brewers to any sports fan and two of the top sports cities in the United States come to mind. But live sports action in Wisconsin is not limited to Green Bay and Milwaukee. Throughout the state, visitors gear up, rally the crew and get into the excitement of game day.

Deer District - Milwaukee

The Deer District sprang up around Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum. Bring your pals to experience this fan-friendly collection of multilevel sports bars perfect for watching the big game and hanging with Milwaukee Bucks fans. Bolstered by the 2021 run to the NBA title, the Deer District has become a year-round entertainment hub, with an enormous all-seasons outdoor beer garden where thousands of spillover fans pack the plaza for watch parties on game day. College hoops fans also converge on the area when the Marquette Golden Eagles take the court at Fiserv for home games.

American Family Field - Milwaukee

Join in the cheers as more than 40,000 baseball fans gather under American Family Field’s retractable roof to see the Milwaukee Brewers play to a packed house. Parking lots open three hours before the first pitch so you and your fellow fans will have plenty of time to grill brats and mingle with other revelers. Inside the ballpark, find tributes to the history of the Brew Crew, including a statue of Bob Uecker in the upper deck. Enjoy Wisconsin traditions, such as the Racing Sausages and a polka sing-along of “Roll Out the Barrel” during the seventh inning stretch. Minor League parks also roll out the Wisconsin hospitality. The Beloit Sky Carp play ball at ABC Supply Stadium and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers — an affiliate of the Brewers —take the plate at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton

Titletown- Green Bay

Before entering Lambeau Field to see the NFL’s Green Bay Packers, lead your crew across the street to the Titletown entertainment district to get your pre-game fix. Wear green and gold — and a cheesehead — to fit right in with the 80,000 Packers fans who come to cheer on their home team. Everyone in the family will be cheering while gliding on Titletown’s snow tubing hill and ice skating rink in the winter, and, during the off-season, a full slate of concerts, events and outdoor playgrounds keep the district hopping. Plan an overnight at Lodge Kohler to stay in the heart of the action.

Camp Randall Stadium - Madison

Experience firsthand why Madison is a perennial contender for America’s best college sports town. Camp Randall hosts University of Wisconsin football games in the fifth oldest and arguably most electric stadium in the country. Tailgating makes game day an all-day event, and fan traditions, such as “Jump Around” between the third and fourth quarters, have become Badger points of pride. Other campus draws include the Kohl Center, where men’s and women’s basketball and hockey teams compete. On, Wisconsin!

Road America - Elkhart Lake

In Wisconsin, green means go, and here, auto racing fans zoom to Road America, also known as “America’s National Park of Speed.” There are plenty of opportunities to join in the fun, as some 400 events are held annually at the track, including Indycar and motorcycle racing. Gearheads enjoy high-speed excitement on the four-mile road course that features tight turns, elevation changes and high-speed straightaways. If you have auto enthusiasts in your clan, deliver them a thrill with the chance to get behind the wheel at performance driving schools, or attend a vintage car show. Other popular destinations for race fans include Milwaukee Mile Speedway, located on the grounds of the Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis, and Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, where fans feel the energy of short track stock car and drag strip racing.

Golf Resorts - Statewide

Traveling with your foursome? Wisconsin has hosted multiple professional golf tournaments at Whistling Straits in Kohler, a player and fan favorite on the shore of Lake Michigan. Across the state, picturesque landscapes dotted with lakes create a scenic backdrop for players of all levels to test their games. Make a stay of it. Destination resorts invite golfers to settle in for a few nights for the chance to play multiple courses. Sand Valley Golf Resort in Nekoosa and Geneva National Resort & Club in Lake Geneva are popular for their surprising mix of sand dunes and ravines.
