Where to Find Marvelous Mocktails in Wisconsin

Share

While Wisconsin is known for its popular craft beer and other spirits, there’s another kind of drink scene making waves throughout the state—mocktails, or cocktails with all the fun flavors of your favorite drinks without the alcohol. From savory bloody marys to fruity IPAs to dry gin martinis, Wisconsin is leading the charge in the N/A drink menu arena. So, whether you’re a non-drinker, friends with one or just want to try something new, stop in at these special spots on your next visit to Wisconsin for tasty sips and good times spent with friends.

Milwaukee Area

Inmoxicated – Racine

Starting off the list is the first sober bar (or “sobar”) in Wisconsin: Inmoxicated in downtown Racine. Owner Shannon Goodman opened the space in 2021 with the hope of offering a place for non-drinkers to connect and enjoy delicious drinks in a familiar bar-like setting. With a huge selection of alcohol-free beverages from as far as France and as close as Waunakee, Inmoxicated is leading the way for mocktail bars in the Midwest. Stop in with friends for live music, trivia nights, Karaoke and of course to try an N/A amaretto sour, tequila sunrise, Old Fashioned and many other classic Wisconsin cocktails with a twist.

HoneyBee Sage Wellness & Apothecary Café - Milwaukee

If wellness is your game, be sure to stop in at HoneyBee Sage Wellness & Apothecary Café in Milwaukee. Here you’ll find herbal tea blends, products from local creators and a beautiful space to reconnect with friends while enjoying a large selection of zero-proof craft cocktails made with all-natural ingredients.

Owner Angela Mallett is a licensed massage therapist, doula and herbalist who has created a cozy space lined with Milwaukee’s iconic Cream City brick where she holds community events and welcomes anyone to visit. From the Wisconsin “New” Fashioneds to healthy bloody marys to many more signature drinks, any craft N/A cocktail you try at this café will have you feeling ready for your next adventure.

County Clare Irish Inn & Pub – Milwaukee

An Irish pub in Wisconsin has mocktails? You bet! This Inn & Pub east of downtown Milwaukee and just a stone’s throw from Lake Michigan offers traditional Irish fare as well as American favorites. The location also boasts a wide selection of non-alcoholic drink options so that everyone can have a good time at the pub. Get in the Irish spirit with an N/A Guinness or try a Milwaukee Mule that uses Junipre, an N/A botanical spirit made by Great Lakes Distillery. Junipre can also be substituted in many other of the pub’s sparkling spirits.

Madison Area

Hodge Podge – Verona

What could be better than a coffee shop that also serves cocktails? How about one that has an amazing mocktail menu? Hodge Podge in Verona has a focus on sustainability that includes glass to-go jars, composting and in-house alternative milk production. While their mocktail menu is ever-changing, you can be sure they’ll always have plenty of delicious N/A drink options made with local ingredients. Recent favorites include the Driftless, made with lavender, lemon and elderflower, and the Daisy Buchanan made with pomegranate, orange and (edible) glitter.

Mint Mark – Madison

One of the trendiest eateries in Madison is Mint Mark, a restaurant and bar in the city’s Atwood neighborhood. With produce-forward dishes on a constantly changing menu, vibey décor including leafy green wallpaper and a kitchen that stays open until 11 PM on weekends, this has quickly become a Madison must-stop.

The bar program here is extensive and includes a fantastic mocktail menu that offers N/A sangria, Old Fashioneds and other cocktails made with N/A gin, N/A aperitifs and house-made syrups. Stop in with your group for a local late-night snack and mocktails as gorgeous and delicious as the real thing.

Sheboygan

BoMallies — Sheboygan

BoMallies in Sheboygan started as a popular food truck before opening its restaurant in 2017. Every dish on the menu is meant to be shared, making it a perfect spot for nights out with friends and family, especially at their extra-wide bar. The mocktail menu includes a rotating fresh fruit spritzer and lime or cranberry N/A Moscow Mules served in the traditional copper mug. If you’re not in the mood for a mixed drink, BoMallies also offers a selection of N/A beers.

Eau Claire

The Lakely at The Oxbow Hotel – Eau Claire

If you’re looking for delicious mocktails in Eau Claire, The Lakely at The Oxbow Hotel is a must-stop. Come for the pub-style comfort food and live music and stay for the N/A drink menu with specialty drinks made from teas, IPAs, fruit juices and house-made grenadine. Extend the fun with an overnight stay, where the lobby offers a Vinyl Library for checking out records to enjoy on the record player provided in every hotel room.

Neenah

Santé Wine Bar & Bistro - Neenah

If you and your crew are looking for somewhere to sip local wine and snack on charcuterie, look no further than Santé Wine Bar & Bistro in downtown Neenah. This sophisticated space is perfect for getting together with friends and sharing a tasty N/A wine or mocktail like the Zero Daiquiri made with N/A white rum and lime or the Tinsel made with N/A bourbon, grapefruit, rosemary, lemon and ginger. Yum!
