About Ochsner Park and Zoo
The zoo first opened in 1926 with 2 bear cubs and now has over 50 animals and 30 different animal species. The zoo is a USDA licensed facility that acquires animals that have been born in captivity from Wisconsin zoos or from licensed dealers. (Due to regulations, we do not accept animals from the public.) River Otters, Canada Lynx, Prairie Dogs, Capuchin Monkeys, Wolves, Llamas, Black Bear, Nubian Goats, White-Tail Deer, Chukar Partridge, Snowy Owls, Barred Owls, Great Horned Owls, Sandhill Cranes, Sulcotta Tortoise, Reptiles, Emu, Opossum, Miniature Donkey, Potbellied Pigs, Chickens, various species of birds and other animals. Open 365 days a year and no admission fees, although donations are appreciated.
