About Hwy 33 Scenic Drive
Highway 33, from Baraboo to La Crosse, winds its way through the Baraboo Range, Coulee Country and the Driftless Area for 93 miles of scenic beauty.
A few stops along the way include state parks and a train ride near Baraboo, the "400" Bike Trail in Reedsburg, canoeing in Wonewoc, Amish farms near Cashton and a historic marker for an early African American settlement in Cheyenne Valley. One of the few hairpin turns on a state highway happens along 33 in Wildcat Mountain State Park, which also offers scenic overlooks and hiking. The Mississippi River, Grandad Bluff and the the "World's Largest Six Pack" can be found at the west end of Highway 33 in La Crosse.
Highway 33 is one of Wisconsin's "Coast to Coast" routes, reaching both Lake Michigan and the Mississippi River. It is 200 miles across the state from Port Washington to La Crosse. Information on the eastern segment of Hwy 33 can be found on the website.
