About Nicolet-Wolf River Scenic Byway
Located in the heart of the majestic Nicolet National Forest. Discover beautiful scenery dotted with quiet vistas and trails along this 147 mile route, a historic logging train being pulled by steam engine, homemade food and crafts, Northwoods apparel, and brightly colored regalia at the center of many local festivals. Enjoy the rich blend of culture with Native American pow wows, Polish Heritage Days, Kentuck Day, and Art in the Square.
Hear the peaceful quiet and the occasional sounds of northern wildlife: loons on a quiet morning waking the early fog from the lake, barn owls piercing the quiet of a moonlit night, or the rustle of leaves as you and a white-tailed deer cross paths. Experience the amazing diversity of birds, wildlife, fish and wild edibles of the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest.
