About Central House/Boscobel Hotel
Known as the " Birthplace of the Gideon Bible," this three story native limestone landmark built in 1863 is listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places. Originally named Central House, it was here in 1898 in shared Room 19 that salesmen, John H. Nicholson and Samuel E. Hill conceived the idea of a Christian traveler's association. This led to the formation of the Gideon Bible Society. Features a full bar. Fine Dining on Thurs, Fri & Sat.
