About House On The Rock Attraction
An exotic and eclectic creation of collections, displays, and galleries, House on the Rock is a dazzling retreat built in 1960 by Alex Jordan atop a chimney of rock in scenic Southern Wisconsin.
Marvel at the world’s largest carousel, experience America’s past with a stroll down the Streets of Yesterday, and make your way through the Galleries, a “collection of collections” featuring everything from suits of armor to ivory carvings. A walk through the Infinity Room extending an astonishing 218 feet, leads to awe-inspiring views of the valley below.
Alex used to explain his sprawling creation by saying “one thing just sort of led to another”.
The House on the Rock offers different experiences depending on the time of year. The days of the week, hours of operation, and open portions of the attraction vary depending on the experience.
