About Smith Rapids Covered Bridge
Built in 1991, this beautiful lattice-work bridge is one of the two remaining covered bridges in Wisconsin. This bridge is located on Wisconsin's Rustic Road 105 in the heart of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest where you will find a multitude of opportunities for outdoor recreation and wildlife viewing. The bridge spans the South Fork of the Flambeau River, a popular paddling river, and is adjacent to the Smith Rapids Picnic Area including a picnic table, grill, drinking water, day-use area, river & stream fishing, carry-in boat access, vault toilets and the adjacent Smith Rapids Saddle Trail which was designed with equestrians in mind. There is an additional parking lot across the road from the picnic area for equestrian use. Garbage service is not provided.
