About Ashland Mural Walk
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Ashland’s Main Street business district is the backdrop for a fascinating stroll through the city’s colorful history as depicted in more than 20 large murals created by northern Wisconsin artists Kelly Meredith and Sue Martinsen. The vibrant paintings highlight subjects ranging from the city’s lumberjacks and military veterans to its railroads, storefronts and massive ore dock. Since 2005, Ashland has been known as the “Historic Mural Capital of Wisconsin,” making the city a year-round public art destination. Guided mural trolley tours are available in the summer through August.
