About Bell Street Gallery on Madeline Island
The gallery opened in May, 2009. Our building, which was originally an 1890s home built by Ed Valley, has been completely remodeled by a local craftsman, with materials purchased from a local saw mill. The gallery is steps away from the shores of Lake Superior, and just a short walk from the ferry. Our focus is local, contemporary and traditional fine art. We proudly feature over 40 local artists, and work inspired by Madeline Island and Lake Superior. We are known for work that conveys a strong sense of authenticity, with the hand of the artist in clay, metal, jewelry, sculpture, printmaking and painting. Bell Street Gallery is constantly changing and evolving. Stop by often to see unique new work which will complement your art collection and home. Enjoy music events and wine in our inner courtyard, and Wednesday night pizza from our wood-fired outdoor oven.
