About Chalet of the Golden Fleece Museum
New Glarus is home to a whimsical museum showcasing the eclectic collections of world traveler Edwin Barlow, founder of the Wilhelm Tell pageant. Barlow gifted his extensive collections and Swiss Bernese chalet-style home to the village so visitors could explore priceless historic treasures and artifacts from every corner of the world, including Etruscan earrings, a jeweled watch that belonged to King Louis XVI, and items linked to a poison spy ring. The museum offers a magical and historic experience for curious explorers.
