About Copper Culture State Park & Museum
Copper Culture State Park is located at the site of a prehistoric cemetery belonging to the Old Copper Complex people, who inhabited the northern Midwest from around 4000 to 2000 BC. Visitors can explore the park and stroll along the Oconto River, or they can tour the museum, which features artifacts and exhibits that highlight the significance of the site. The 42-acre park is situated just west of the city of Oconto and is operated by the Oconto County Historical Society.
