About Deke Slayton Memorial Space & Bicycle Museum
We have over 70 unique bikes on display, artifacts on loan from NASA, and a real piece of moon rock- the only one on display in Wisconsin! We also have a great play area for ALL ages with a loft, replica Mercury space capsule, and astronaut costumes! Come visit today!
The Deke Slayton Memorial Space and Bicycle Museum was formed in 1999 to honor Sparta native and astronaut Deke Slayton and to celebrate Sparta as the 'Bicyling Capital of America' with the first rails to trails program in the country. We combine these subjects into a "Progression of Transportation" with exhibits on bikes, planes, and space!
