Hauge Historic District Park

This Park is Wisconsin’s first Town Historic District Park and Dane County’s first Historic Overlay District. It surrounds the Hauge Log Church National Historic Site. The unique 30- acre park boasts a spectacular scenic view of the Blue Mounds, stunning vistas of the Wisconsin Driftless Area glacial formation extending to Saint Louis, breathtaking sunsets, and quiet serenity on 1.5 miles of groomed trails for walking, hiking, kite flying, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and picnicking. Be sure to visit the beautiful old 1852 Hauge Log Church Historic Site while you are there.

The park has been recognized by the King and Queen of Norway; Norwegian and American Ambassadors and Consul Generals; the State Historical Society; the Dane County Historical Society; the Department of Natural Resources; the Dane County Executive and Board of Supervisors;  Trip Advisor; and the Mount Horeb Chamber of Commerce. The park offers comfortable amenities including a handicapped accessible public restroom, sitting benches, picnic tables and a Heritage Circle of inscribed pavers. 

The park is 10 minutes South of Mount Horeb at 1399 County Road Z.
