About Leonard Leota Park
This beloved local jewel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the heart of the park is Lake Leota, a 40-acre body of water great for fishing, canoeing and kayaking. In addition there are five picnic pavilions, a public outdoor swimming pool, baseball and softball diamonds, tennis and basketball courts, four playgrounds, skate park, footbridge and hiking areas. At the main entrance to the park is the historic Baker Office Building, now a museum with rotating exhibits about local history. Next to the museum is a tiny tourist cabin, a restored classic treasure dating from the 1930s. A disc golf course on the grounds has been the site of successful sanctioned tournaments.
