About Norskedalen's Thrunegaarden
Norskedalen's Thrunegaarden brings The Immigration Story told on Norskedalen's main property to life through the cabin, farm, children and grandchildren of Nils Skumsrud. See the cabin that Nils built when arriving in Coon Valley in the 1850s and how his family and farm grew through the next century. Explore the homes of other families from through out the region as they have been moved to Thrunegaarden grounds for preservation. Enjoy the formal museum depicting the relationship of the Skumsrud-Thrune family as their lives encompassed friendships with Native Americans, a love of art in all forms, and the fullness of farm life in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Norskedalen's Thrunegaarden is open only for tour group by prior reservations.
