About Ripon Historical Society
The Ripon Historical Society, located at 508 Watson Street, was founded in 1899 for "the discovery, collection, preservation and publication of historical records and data of and relating to the City of Ripon." Its primary mission is educational—to interpret and preserve the past for present and future generations and to serve as a resource center for the Ripon area community. The Society maintains a museum, a library, and archives. During the fall and spring months, public meetings featuring programs related to history are held at the Society. Open houses are held in December as part of the Dickens of a Christmas celebration and in the summer. Open to the public seasonally on Sundays. The Society is staffed entirely by volunteers, and membership is open to the public. Further information may be found on the Society website.
