About Saxton House
Boyhood home of Robert "Fighting Bob" LaFollette. LaFollette represented Wisconsin's 3rd District in the U.S. House of Representatives (1885-1891). He was the 20th Governor of the State of Wisconsin (1901-1906), and a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin (1906-1925). He ran for President of the U.S. as representative of his own Progressive Party in 1924, carrying Wisconsin and winning 17% of the popular vote. The house has been restored and is open for tours on the 1st Saturday of the month, June through October, 10am-2pm, or by appointment.
