About Historic Temple Theatre
Nestled in the heart of downtown Viroqua, the Historic Temple Theatre is a beautifully restored 1922–built venue that combines architectural grandeur with a vibrant cultural mission. Originally constructed in the Neo-Classical Revival style for the local Masonic Lodge after a fire in 1920, the building was designed by architects Parkinson & Dockendorff and decorated by the noted Odin J. Oyen firm.
Today, the Temple Theatre serves as a lively hub for live music, film screenings, educational presentations and community events across the region. The venue welcomes audiences from Wisconsin and beyond, keeping the spirit of civic gathering alive while preserving its historic decorative flourishes and marquee charm. Whether you’re attending a concert, catching a classic film or taking in a community celebration, the Temple Theatre offers an immersive experience where history, artistry and community converge in the heart of the Driftless Region.
