Madeline Island Chamber Music

Madeline Island Chamber Music is devoted to educating and nurturing the next generation of musicians through chamber music performances and individualized training on verdant, historic Madeline Island in Lake Superior.

Students and internationally recognized faculty perform each week at The Clubhouse, located near the campus, overlooking the golf course's lovely grounds and offering spectacular views of Lake Superior and the Marina.

The Madeline Island Chamber Music (MICM) was founded in 1985 as Madeline Island Music Camp, a one-week chamber music program for 20 students from Minnesota. Today, there is a three-week program for thirty-two talented young string players, a five-week program for sixteen fellowship string players, and a one-week program for twenty-five woodwind musicians. Students come from across the country and around the world to study chamber music with a distinguished faculty and resident string quartets.
