Montello Theater

130-seat, family-friendly movie theater showing films Friday through Sunday. In four years, we’ve never raised the prices because we believe a night at the movies should stay affordable for families. We’ve also brought live performances back to the stage for the first time in over 100 years, including sold-out candlelight concerts, string quartets, and singer-songwriter shows.

The theater is a true labor of love. We’ve never taken a paycheck. Every dollar goes back into preserving the building, from new handmade doors and a history exhibit in the basement to a new air conditioner and roof repairs.

We are very proud of our “Vets Are Free Forever” program, which gives veterans free movies, popcorn, and soda.

Originally built in 1879 as Dodge’s Opera House, the historic Montello Theater is one of Wisconsin’s historic small-town gems. Over four years ago, we, Kerry and Jen Mann, took over the theater from Dawn and Dave, who had lovingly run it for over19 years. Our family has always loved history and movies, so when the chance came to keep this 147-year-old landmark alive for Montello, we couldn’t pass it up.
