Wisconsin Sports

When you visit Wisconsin for a game, be prepared for a memorable experience. From NBA and Superbowl champions to high-energy collegiate and minor league teams, Wisconsin sports provide year-round excitement for the entire family. An attraction all their own, our sports arenas and stadiums are state-of-the-art gems showcasing our teams’ past, present and future.

From the Lambeau Leap to the Famous Racing Sausages, we’ve also got some of the most cherished traditions in sports. After a game here, you and your family will want to make Wisconsin sports a part of your traditions.

So, rally the friends and family and join us for a game or two. You might just witness history in the making. And although you may not come as a fan of Wisconsin’s team, we’ll do our best to turn you into one before the game’s over.

Football is King in Green Bay

Gameday at Lambeau Field, also known as the Frozen Tundra, is an experience not found anywhere but in Wisconsin. Where else do you see football fans dressed up in green jerseys and cheesehead hats? You’ll feel the excitement in the stands when the Superbowl-winning Green Bay Packers team runs out of the tunnel and onto the turf.

Even when there isn't a game, the stadium on the bay is a must-see attraction. Go on a tour of the impressive venue and walk or bike along the famous heritage trail. To learn more about the team’s storied past, visit the Packers Hall of Fame inside the stadium’s five-story atrium.

Milwaukee Thrives on Basketball, Baseball & Hockey

While you're in town, catch some of our other pro teams in action on the court, the field or the ice.

The Milwaukee Bucks play home games at the Fiserv Forum, situated in the heart of downtown near the Milwaukee River and other fun attractions. This NBA championship-winning team knows how to excite fans and give a history-worthy performance. Your kids will especially love Bango, the mascot, who entertains the crowd with acrobatic dunks and stunts when the team is off the court.

The Fiserv Forum is also home to Marquette University’s basketball team, the Golden Eagles. The arena is in the heart of the Deer District, which features trendy restaurants and shops, a perfect place to hang out before or after a game.

Going to a ball game with family and friends is a time-honored American tradition filled with, at least in Wisconsin, tons of bratwurst, or as we call them, brats.

Spend an afternoon or evening at the American Family Field, formerly Miller Park, and cheer on the Milwaukee Brewers. Before an MLB game, tour the field with a guide and see the players practice, and even go down the Bernie Slide, inspired by the Brewers mascot — Bernie Brewer — who shoots down the twisty yellow slide every time the team scores a home run.

For hockey fans, Milwaukee is home to the pro team, the Milwaukee Admirals. The AHL team plays at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

College & Minor League Teams Excite

Might we suggest adding a college or minor league game to your itinerary?

One game at the University of Wisconsin in Madison will soon have you and your friends singing “On, Wisconsin!” —  the fight song of the Wisconsin Badgers. A member of the Big Ten Conference, the Badgers typically pack Camp Randall Stadium, one of the first college stadiums in the country, with thousands of fans dressed in bright-red jerseys and striped overalls. Arrive early for tailgating and wear your brightest red. Catch the UW men’s and women’s basketball teams at the Kohl Center, also in Madison.

We’re also home to a handful of minor league teams found statewide.

In Appleton, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, an affiliate team of the Milwaukee Brewers, play at the Fox Cities Stadium. Other minor league baseball franchises include the Beloit Sky Carp, Eau Claire Express and the La Crosse Loggers. We’ve also got a minor league hockey team, the Janesville Jets

To top it off, Wisconsin is host to other sporting events and features countless venues, including golf courses, which puts you in the middle of the action.

Start a new family tradition today and make Wisconsin sports a part of your next getaway.
