Constructed in 1907, the hatchery stands as a reminder of Wisconsin's fishing heritage. In the early 20th century concern over fish deletion led to the creation of a fish propagation program.

The fieldstone building contained two concrete tanks for hatching walleye-pike eggs. The grounds included six holding ponds; two were used for hatching bass eggs.Today, the building is available to rent through the City (262) 646-6220 and contains restrooms, a large main floor with a full kitchen and serving pass through window, as well as an upstairs space.

The Delafield Fish Hatchery Sports Commons is also on this property that includes sand volley ball courts, baseball and soccer sports area with bleachers and a play area.

Multiple wedding photos per day can be seen at or around the Fish Hatchery building including on the boardwalk behind the building that follows the Bark River, making for amazing photos during your event. Ample parking for guests at either the Fish Hatchery or steps away in the city Municipal Parking lot.
