Fat Mama's Chicken and Barbecue

“We came from the city of Milwaukee where we lived a dangerous street life. Visiting Oshkosh, we decided to make our life here. Changing our lives we went through a lot of bumpy roads, but with our belief in God we changed for the better. Going through our own struggles with everything and everybody we remained strong and put God first and got married. Devin and I were friends for over 12 years, and, no, he didn’t know how to cook until I taught him. Cooking has always been my passion. As a little girl I used to always watch my mommy cook. I used to watch her so much that she would tell me, “Girl, get out of here." Ever since then, I knew what I wanted to do. So my mommy has always been my motivation and my support system for me wanting my own business. But sad to say, my mother passed away in 2010 from pancreatic cancer. I felt like my world ended. But God watched over me and my mommy saw me accomplish everything I’ve always wanted to accomplish, and I am happy and proud of that. My mommy gave me her talent, and I shared it with my husband Devin. And now that he can cook, he thinks he is the Iron Chef of America. So until God guides me to do something else, cooking is what I bring. For me, cooking will always stay close to my heart and that will be keeping a smile on my mommy’s face. So come and enjoy a good friendly homie environment and also some good Fat Mama’s Home cooked food.”
