With more than 1,000 events annually piquing every interest and passion, there is always something happening in Oshkosh, Wisconsin’s Event City! Home to the world’s largest aviation event, “EAA AirVenture,” more than 750,000 spectators from 70 countries come to Oshkosh each year to take part in this annual celebration. Oshkosh is also home to the premier country music and camping festival in the nation, “Country USA,” drawing more than 175,000 fans annually. Located on the western shore of Lake Winnebago, Oshkosh has an abundance of waterways and also offers world-class museums, art galleries, theater and musical productions, and unique dining and shopping.
Oshkosh is Wisconsin’s Event City. Home to more than 1,000 events each year, you’ll find plenty to do nearly every weekend and all at an affordable price. Oshkosh is home to three of the largest music festivals in the Midwest: Country USA, Rock USA and Lifest. The Leach Amphitheater downtown hosts a two weekly concert series as well as Oshkosh IrishFest, Oktoberfest and the annual Oshkosh Community Dragonboat Race and Festival. But the biggest event is the annual EAA AirVenture. Featuring daily airshows, demonstrations, educational forums and entertainment - it’s not to be missed.

Oshkosh is home to three wonderful museums. The Paine Art Center & Gardens is considered one of “America’s Castles” and features a stunning combination of horticulture and internationally acclaimed artwork. The Oshkosh Public Museum focuses on the history of the region as well as touring exhibitions. And the EAA AirVenture Museum is an interactive dream for children of all ages. Plus, the first Saturday of each month, downtown Oshkosh hosts a Gallery Walk. As many as 50 art galleries and businesses participate to showcase the talents of local and regional artists.

For a taste of nostalgia, visit Ardy and Ed’s Drive In where roller skating carhops will deliver great food, tasty ice cream treats and their famous draft root beer. The Oshkosh Farmers Market offers plenty of shopping and snacking options. Catch a show at the historic Grand Opera House, the oldest operating theater in Wisconsin, or enjoy a classic Wisconsin-style fish fry at one of our many restaurants on the waterfront including Becket’s, Fratello’s, Wendt’s and TJ’s Harbor House.
Lake Winnebego Fishing
On the shores of Lake Winnebago with the Fox River running through the heart of town, Oshkosh is an angler’s paradise. There are more than 250,000 acres of waterways to explore and catch everything from bass and perch to northern pike and sturgeon. We’re home to major fishing tournaments like Battle on ‘Bago and Master Walleye Circuit events. Lake Winnebago is also famous for being one of the few locations with a sturgeon spearing season. Come catch the big one!
Your child will always remember...
Children of all ages will love Menominee Park on the shore of Lake Winnebago. It features a free, interactive zoo that is home to a number of animals that are native to the area, “Little Oshkosh,” a 30,000 square foot playground of tunnels, a lighthouse and a climbing castle, and an amusement area with train rides, merry go round, aqua bikes and paddle boats. During November and December more than 500,000 holiday lights decorate the park for the annual Celebration of Lights.
