Come up to Bayfield for an entire weekend 'Celebrating Ice, Snow and Cabin Fever!' Special events throughout the weekend include: The Run on Water - Run, walk, ski, skate, skijor, or snowshoe 5 miles across frozen Lake Superior to Madeline Island and back on the Ice Road; the Polar Bear Plunge - Watch volunteers jump through a hole in the ice to raise money, or better yet, do it yourself! (Both Fundraisers for the Bayfield Recreation Center). Mt. Ashwabay Winterfest Bash - Including a chili contest, bonfire, live music, night tubing - don't miss this great party! And more! Visitors will enjoy skiing at Mt. Ashwabay Recreation Area, breakfast at the Pier Plaza Restaurant, dogsled rides on the Big Lake, jewelry making, Big Ice Golf Tournament, Senior Social at the Bayfield Inn, kiteboards on the Lake, softball on ice, human-powered dogsled races, and an Ice Bike Dash for Cold Hard Cash.
