Step back in time to 1802 at Forts Folle Avoine, where the fur trade comes alive on 80 beautiful wooded acres along the historic Yellow River. Visitors can explore the reconstructed trading posts of the North West Company and XY Company, built on the same site as the original rival posts, and experience daily life in a recreated Ojibwe village.
Period-dressed guides lead walking tours, sharing the stories and traditions of the fur trade era. The site also features several museums, including a logging museum and a one-room schoolhouse, offering a deeper look into Wisconsin and Burnett County history. Forts Folle Avoine offers a hands-on look at Wisconsin’s early history, making it an engaging destination for visitors of all ages.
